// DesignX
Custom payslips for Oracle Cloud HCM
DesignX is a payslip designer for Oracle Cloud HCM. Payroll and HR teams design, preview and deploy their own payslips in a browser, built from the earning and deduction elements in their own Oracle environment. No hand-written XSL-FO, no waiting for a developer, and every change is tested in Oracle before it goes live.

// Overview
Payslips your employees actually want to read
Out-of-the-box Oracle payslips are functional, but they rarely match your brand, your pay structure or your country. Changing them normally means a BI Publisher template, XSL-FO knowledge and a developer.
DesignX replaces that with a designer your payroll team can use. It reads the earning and deduction elements that exist in your own Oracle Cloud HCM environment, so the payslip reflects how you really pay people, and it handles the build, deployment and testing for you.
// See it work
A 60-second tour of DesignX
From Oracle data to a designed payslip: the designer, rules built from your own elements, safe deployment and multi-country support.
// Try it
Design a payslip right here
This is the same idea as the DesignX designer. Switch country, change the columns, hide the net pay tile, or merge rows with a rule, and watch the payslip respond.
Country
Columns per section
Illustrative figures. Your payslip uses your own Oracle data and elements.
// What you get
Everything you need to own your payslip
Drag-and-drop designer
Reorder the header, net pay tile, employee details, sections and links. Choose one, two or three columns for each section, plus colours, density and footer.
Elements from your Oracle
Earning and deduction elements are read from your environment, so the list is yours, not a generic template. In one of our test environments that was 745 elements.
Rules and element groups
Group elements, then hide, merge or rename them when a condition is met. For example, show Dental and Vision as a single Medical line without changing the total.
Safe deployment to Oracle
Each design is built as an Oracle layout, deployed and test-rendered. If the test fails it rolls back automatically and the live payslip is untouched.
Any country, any currency
Built to work across Oracle legislations, with the right currency formatting. Checked against live UK, US, India and China payslips.
Links that click through
Add links to your Oracle pages or any other site, such as an HR help desk. They stay clickable in the PDF.
Employees see only their own
Employees sign in and see only their own payslips. Access is enforced on the server, not just hidden on screen.
Your brand, per employer
Upload a logo for each employer in a group and apply your colours so every legal entity gets the right payslip.
Audit trail
Generate and deploy actions are logged, so you can see who changed what and when.
// How it works
From your Oracle to a live payslip
Connect
Point DesignX at your Oracle Cloud HCM environment. It reads your payroll elements and the address of your Oracle server, so test and production just work.
Design
Start from a ready-made template or from scratch. Arrange blocks, set columns, add rules and links, and preview with real payslip data.
Deploy
DesignX builds the Oracle layout, deploys it and test-renders it. A failed test rolls back to the last good version.
Deliver
Payslips are generated by Oracle with your layout. Employees view and download their own from DesignX.

// Your environment
Templates for everyone, elements from you
DesignX ships with a choice of templates, from a clean modern layout to a detailed pay breakdown. What goes into them is different for every client: the number and names of earning and deduction elements depend on how your Oracle is set up.
DesignX reads them from your environment, so a client with 38 elements and a client with 700 both get a payslip that fits.
- Pick a template, then change it to suit
- Group related elements and apply conditions to one, a group or all of them
- Nothing is hard-coded to one customer
// Safe by design
Tested in Oracle before anyone sees it
Changing a payslip layout in a live payroll system is nerve-wracking. DesignX makes it routine: every change is built, deployed and test-rendered in Oracle first. If the test fails, the previous layout stays live and the change is rolled back automatically.
- Build, deploy, test render, then go live
- Automatic rollback on failure
- Server address discovered from Oracle, so test and production differ without code changes

// Global
One product, every legislation
Multinational payroll means different pay elements, different currencies and different expectations in every country. DesignX uses each client’s legislation and currency to format amounts correctly, and has been checked against live UK, US, India and China payslips from Oracle.
//MKSK Advantage
Built by Oracle HCM and payroll specialists
DesignX comes from MKSK Consulting, an Oracle Cloud HCM consultancy. We understand how payroll data, element set-up and BI Publisher fit together, so we can configure DesignX for your environment, advise on your payslip design and support it afterwards.

// FAQ
Frequently asked questions about DesignX
What is DesignX?
DesignX is a payslip designer for Oracle Cloud HCM, built by MKSK Consulting. It lets payroll and HR teams design, preview and deploy custom payslips in a browser, using the earning and deduction elements from their own Oracle environment.
Do I need to know XSL-FO or BI Publisher to use DesignX?
No. You design in the browser, and DesignX generates, deploys and tests the Oracle layout for you.
Where do the earning and deduction elements come from?
From your own Oracle Cloud HCM environment, so the list matches your configuration and differs from client to client. In one of our test environments DesignX read 745 elements.
What happens if a new payslip layout does not work?
Every layout is built, deployed and test-rendered in Oracle before it goes live. If the test fails, DesignX rolls back automatically and the previous payslip stays in place.
Does DesignX change how pay is calculated?
No. DesignX reads payroll results and deploys payslip layouts. It does not change your payroll set-up or calculations.
Can employees see each other’s payslips?
No. Employee accounts are limited to their own payslips, and this is enforced on the server.
Which countries does DesignX support?
DesignX works with Oracle legislations and formats currency for each client. We have checked UK, US, India and China payslips against live Oracle data. Ask us about your countries.
Can I add links to a payslip?
Yes. You can add links to Oracle pages or any other site, such as an HR help desk, and they stay clickable in the PDF.
